A fault on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen rail service resulted in many trains being unable to operate on Wednesday, resulting in large numbers of passengers being stranded at stations during the Canton Fair.

After emergency repairs by the railway sector, the running order of trains gradually returned to normal at 5pm.

Guangzhou east railway station, Shenzhen station and other railway stations gave an urgent notice via broadcast and arranged for staff to explain and guide passengers.

The reasons for the delays are still under Investigation.
