China Southern Airlines announced on May 4th that it would provide cross-strait chartered flights for the Dragon Boat Festival in 2008, as approved by the China General Administration of Civil Aviation. China Southern Airlines has successfully provided the cross-strait chartered flights for the New Spring Festival and the Tomb Sweeping Day this year.

China Southern Airlines would provide two return flights from Guangzhou to Taipei on June 7th and 12th¡ªwhich were before and after the Dragon Boat Festival respectively. In details, the flight from Guangzhou to Taipei would be CZ3097 and the return flight would be CZ3098. The chartered airplanes would be AirBus-319s where both business and economy class tickets would be available. The flight would depart from the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 12:10 and arrive in Taipei at 13:50 on June 7th before the Dragon Boat Festival and the return flight would depart at 14:50 from Taipei and arrive in Guangzhou at 16:30 on the same day. The return flight on June 12th after the Dragon Boat Festival would follow the same schedule as it would be on June 7th.

Additionally, passengers could also take the return flights to and from Taipei via Hong Kong by choosing the chartered flights of the China Southern Airlines in pairs of other flights of the China Airlines, the Cathay Pacific Airways, and the Hong Kong Dragon Airlines. Currently, the tickets for the two chartered flights for the Dragon Boat Festival and its joint-fare tickets have been available for booking beginning this month. All Taiwan residents and relatives of Taiwan businessmen that hold a valid "Exit-Entry Permit to Mainland China for Taiwan Residents" could call the China Southern Airlines' customer service line 95539 to book tickets or ask for information. Passengers could also get tickets for the chartered flights directly in mainland cities such as Guangzhou and at all agencies of China Southern Airlines.

The single passenger ticket from Guangzhou to Taipei costs 700 Yuan (tax excluded) and the return passenger ticket costs 1,500 Yuan (tax excluded). There would be discount single tickets of the flight on June 12th for passenger groups, on the principle of "first come, first served".
